Do you have what it takes to take an AP class? Every year, students all around the world push their limits in taking AP (Advanced Placement) classes. This year, I’ve interviewed a few juniors on their opinions of the AP classes offered for them, those being AP Spanish, AP English, and AP U.S. History. A few days ago, we asked students what they were expecting before they took their courses. Majority of the students responded with words such as “stressful” and said they expected a “heavy workload”. Now starting the school year, they were met with such standards.
A funny pattern we noticed was when asked what the hardest vs. most enjoyable AP class was, the most common response for both questions was unexpectedly AP U.S. History! The fast paced course makes students feel simultaneously stressed and happy to learn.
Though it’s only the beginning of the year, students are starting to feel the pressure of keeping up with all their rigorous classes but it’ll all be worth it in the end when those AP exam scores come back as three’s, four’s & especially five’s.
