Parent Conferences

Parents wandered here, there and everywhere around Cal Prep's beautiful building as they met with teachers. They ooohed and aaahed while viewing the striking murals painted by Ms. Rubin and students' artwork displayed on the school walls. This was the first Cal Prep in person Parent/Teacher Conferences since the Pandemic. Yep. In Person. Everyone commented how nice it was to meet each other face to face instead of on a screen.

"Oh, you look so much prettier in person," one parent exclaimed to a teacher.

Earlier, students' parents and guardians had signed up with their student's advisor if they were able to attend and chose with which two teachers they wanted to meet. The day of the conferences, parents had questions answered and offered insights about their children's behavior.

Previously, Ms. Muro had advised her 12th grade parents/guardians on Parent Square that the conferences, held from September 25 through the 28th "are different than Cal Prep's previous advisory core competency conferences. They will be more academically focused, and you will get an opportunity to check in with your scholars' teachers. "

There were lots of smiles and greetings exchanged. And there was bonding as new parent/teacher partnerships were forged. Perhaps last but not least, a good time was had by all.
