Cheer Girls On Their Way!

We're starting a cheer team for high school. So far, 16 students have signed up and it's mostly 10th and 12th graders.But we're really excited since we haven't had a cheer team in a long time. And I feel like this is going to be a really fun opportunity to connect with all the girls and build sisterhood,

We have ordered our main uniform, which is our school colors, bavy blue, navy blue, and golden white. But we are also talking about doing a second uniform because we want to kind of switch it up. A lot of the girls are talking about wanting to have pink, since pink is the color that represents Breast Cancer Awareness Month and pink also symbolizes a color of empowerment. Originally pink has been used as a way to be feminine, but now when we use it, it's an empowering move. And due to the Barbie movie I feel like we pink is very normalized now and a lot of people are starting to like it. I know a lot of boys like pink.

We even have a boy as our Cheer Girls' assistant. He's here so we can show that men are able to be involved in cheerleading and we're not going to be misogynistic or biased. That means men can join if they want but won't be doing any the cheers. But by having men, we give a good impression that we welcome all ! If any men would like to join the cheer team, please sign up. It is not only for women.
