Amazing Amanda Gordon

January 20, 2021, does that ring a bell? Most likely not, it is not something most people remember… but it's the day of Biden's inauguration. Now imagine you're sitting at home watching it on TV and a young woman steps up to the microphone. She looks confident, ready, and gives an amazing speech that leaves everybody inspired. That is Amanda Gorman and her beautiful speech ¨ The Hill We Climb¨.

Amanda is the youngest poet yet to read at a president inauguration, at only 22 years of age. Amanda Gorman, her natural beauty and enthusiasm radiates through every word she reads. She exuberates the ray of sunshine of strength and hope supporting everything America stands for. Amanda , 23 year old, opens up to an interviewer about how she was diagnosed with auditory processing order which basically means she has a hard time understanding speech. With practice she has definitely gotten better at understanding and doing what she loves. Her speech leaves tons of people amazed and inspired, a personal favorite quote from it is ¨The hill we climb, if we dare it: because being American is more than a pride we inherit, it's the past we step into, and how we repair it.¨ Her speech is a powerful call for unity, healing and hope for America.
